I think Rhys Hovey may be the most genuinely crazy person I have ever met. This is a guy convinced that the government is out to get us will all sorts of insane conspiracies. If you've ever heard of a conspiracy, no matter how far fetched, Rhys has probably already heard about it, researched it, and has a pile of 'facts' to go along with it.
One of his favorite stories to tell is about the audio spotlight. The audio spotlight is a piece of technology that allows the user to direct sound in a very focused manner, similar to a spotlight. It's easy enough to find info about this on the net and there are even a couple youtube videos of it in action.

As far as the "near gay" ads, I remember the HUGE billboard of a naked man's bum on Sunset Blvd,. I personally don't want my neighbourhood, PASTERED with near naked men,. I don't know about you, but even women still wear swimsuits or something in ads.

You seem to have really read and researched Rhys Hovey's thoughts-perhaps you see some validity in them? Is it really that far-fetched?
If this level of the technology is "allowed" out on the streets, imagine what level the government is at in terms of it's own developments of the technology. If this "simplified" type of spotlighting is starting to be used for ads, why is it so strange to think that there wouldn't be other, military or political uses for it that are more sinister, and more developed technologically? Why gay?, why him?-that I can't answer, except that maybe the elusive "they" don't like his exposition of the technology so blatantly on the net? Maybe as a distraction from his research, maybe to help society deem him "crazy" to discredit what he is exposing? And there really isn't much about governmental conspriacies on there-just stuff about the spotlighting. I think his intentions are good, if not a bit eccentric. Even if he is delusional, terms like "nut job" just discredit your opinion in my eyes. In my experience, the "nut jobs" often have much greater insight into what's going on that us "sane" people. Maybe that's the government's doing too- find a way to get the smart ones considered crazy so no one catches on.
